Providence Forge woman to serve term in Detention and Diversion programs
A Providence Forge woman who received an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) through illegal means will serve one year in the Detention and Diversion program.
Erin Merrill Bierworth, 33, of the 6700 block of Halstead Lane, received the sentence during Jan. 11 afternoon proceedings in New Kent Circuit Court.
Last Sept. 22, Bierworth worked for Ronald Marshburn and used his information to receive the ATV. She also used Marshburn’s information to obtain money in an effort to pay her rent. In a November trial, she accepted a plea agreement and entered guilty pleas to an amended charge of receiving stolen goods (originally embezzlement) and obtaining money by false pretenses.
Under the agreement, Bierworth was evaluated for the Detention and Diversion programs which will last for one year. Twenty years on each charge were suspended upon the condition that she completes the program successfully.
