New Kent Sheriff’s Office arrests teen for burglary, thefts from motor vehicles
New Kent Sheriff’s Office personnel have arrested a New Kent teenager in relation to recent burglaries and thefts from motor vehicles and homes in the county.
Brian M. Harlow, 19, of the 5800 block of Deer Path Drive, was taken into custody on Feb. 19 on one count of theft from a motor vehicle. He is also charged with burglary, grand larceny, and possession of a schedule I or II narcotic.
According to the police report, New Kent Sheriff’s Office received a report of a suspicious male walking away from a vehicle in the Deer Run subdivision. Deputies responded and located the male, identified as Harlow. After an investigation, he was arrested and charged with the single count of theft from a motor vehicle. A subsequent investigation revealed he was involved in several other burglaries, triggering the additional charges. Harlow was being held without bond.
In other recent arrests by New Kent Sheriff’s Office:
–Courtney Marie Collier, 19, of the 9000 block of Basswood Drive, Quinton, on one count of possession of a schedule I or II narcotic. She was being held on a $1,000 secured bond.
–Edward Earl Hardy, 53, of the 600 block of Michigan Drive, Ag. J, Hampton, and Garrett Michael Jones, 40, of the 18000 block of Cherry Grove Circle, Smithfield, were arrested and each charged with two counts of burglary, conspiracy to commit a felony, and possession of burglary tools. On Feb. 25, New Kent Sheriff’s Office was notified of suspicious activity at the Forge Center in Providence Forge. The caller described the vehicle and one of the occupants, which deputies located leaving the parking lot of the business center. After the two suspects were detained, an inspection of the grounds revealed the Subway restaurant’s front doors had been forced open. Another business back door in the rear of the center had been pried open as well. Jones received an additional charge of driving on a suspended license, as he is being held without bond. Hardy was being held on a $3,000 secured bond.
–Ralph Lamar Matthews, 21, of the 9000 block of Higgins Road, Quinton, on one count each of possession of marijuana, possession a schedule I or II narcotic, and distribution of a schedule I or II narcotic. He was being held on a $1,500 secured bond.
–Justin Patrick Newcomb, 46, of the 1300 block of Riveroaks Drive, Colonial Heights, on one count of abduction. According to the police report, a be-on-the-lookout was issued for a suspect in the abduction and assault of a four-year-old child. Newcomb, identified as the suspect, was located on Feb. 25 at the Star Motel in New Kent and was arrested without incident.
–Nicholas Sean Tuck, 26, of the 8600 block of Old Pond Road, Quinton, on a single count of possession of cocaine. According to the arrest report, deputies responded to the area after a caller said shots had been fired. Tuck was spotted in the area and after an investigation, was arrested on possession of cocaine. He was released on a personal recognizance bond.
–Veronica Haven Wilson, 19, of the 5800 block of Longbow Lane, New Kent, on one count each of possession of a schedule I or II narcotic and possession of stolen property. She was being held on a $1,500 secured bond.
