Plea deals, renderings reached in New Kent Circuit Court
Plea deals and renderings were handed down during Aug. 8 proceedings in New Kent Circuit Court:
–John Glaseman Adams III, 42, of the 5500 block of Lakeview Road, Quinton, was found guilty on one count each of DUI while having a prior felony conviction, and felony driving revoked during a trial after the defendant pleaded not guilty. Adams was convicted of operating a vehicle on June 2, 2015 while he was intoxicated. A background check revealed the defendant had previous convictions related to similar offenses of operating a vehicle intoxicated.
–Christopher Erhan Cutrell, 23, of the 8000 block of Brown Ave., West Point, entered a guilty plea to possession of a Schedule I or II substance as part of a plea deal. Under the agreement, no formal finding was made as the defendant will have to complete community service and a rehabilitation program.
–Milford S. Diggs, 39, of the 500 block of Lampkinton Road, Burgess, entered guilty pleas to selling marijuana (more than one-half ounce) and misdemeanor operating a vehicle while revoked. Diggs admitted guilt to selling the substance on Feb. 9. Formal sentencing is scheduled for Oct. 17.
–Joshua Scott Fuller, 37, of the 500 block of Smith Ferry Road, West Point, accepted a plea agreement and entered a guilty plea to an amended charge of misdemeanor unauthorized use of a vehicle (originally felony unauthorized use of a vehicle). In a summary of evidence, Fuller drove a vehicle off the property of Whitmore Chevrolet and the value of the vehicle was less than $200. Under the agreement, he received a 12-month sentence with all time suspended.
–Ralph Lamar Matthews, 21, of the 9000 block of Higgins Road, Quinton, accepted a plea deal and entered a guilty plea to one count of possession of a controlled substance (cocaine). One count each of manufacturing of a controlled substance (cocaine), misdemeanor possession of marijuana (first offense), and misdemeanor possession of marijuana (second offense) were dropped. Matthews admitted that he possessed the substance on Feb. 19. Under the agreement, no formal finding will be rendered as the defendant will undergo a treatment program. Formal sentencing is scheduled for Sept. 17, 2018.
