Ruthville Road closure in Charles City among VDOT projects for Aug. 15-19

Virginia’s Department of Transportation (VDOT) has announced projects for the upcoming week including a road closure in Charles City on Aug. 17.

Ruthville Road (Route 612) will be closed between Courthouse Road (Route 155) and The Glebe Lane (Route 615) to traffic from 7:30 a.m.-8 p.m. for pipe replacement. Only residents who live on the road will be allowed to travel on it during that time and may be subject to delays or directed to an alternative route.

Other projects for the upcoming week are as follows:

–Aug. 15-19: Alternating lane closures will continue on New Kent Highway (Route 249) at the intersection of Airport/Tunstall Road from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. for roundabout construction.

–Aug. 16-19: Alternating lane closures will continue on the Benjamin Harrison Bridge connecting Charles City and Prince George County from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. for elevator replacement.

–Aug. 17: Interstate 64 eastbound at mile marker 205 (Bottoms Bridge) will have the right lane closed from 9 p.m.-5 a.m. for soil testing.
