Three Richmond juveniles have been arrested after allegedly entering into vehicles in New Kent on May 17.

According to a press release from New Kent Sheriff’s Office, deputies received a call at 5:55 a.m. of vehicles possibly being entered in the area of Sassafras Drive in Quinton. About ten minutes later, a responding deputy made contact with several juveniles walking along Magnolia Woods Drive, just south of the aforementioned location. After other officers arrived, the juveniles were in custody a few moments later, with several of the property being recovered.

As the apprehensions were taking place, more reports were coming in from communication officers of the sheriff’s department, saying that more vehicles have been tampered with. As of this press release time, 28 incidents have been reported. While the vehicles may have been entered illegally, not all of them had property stolen.

The press release also states that a vehicle was located near the area of the thefts and that the vehicle was stolen from Richmond.

All of the suspects, ages 14-17, are from Richmond and juvenile petitions are being requested on all three at this time. A total number of charges have not been released as of this time and the suspects’ names have not been released due to their age.
