Amtrak train stuck on rails in Charles City
Eighty-four passengers who were on an Amtrak train heading to Newport News had their ride come to a halt in Charles City.
Sources have told the Chronicle that shortly after 11 a.m. on June 27, the Amtrak train came to a halt after having technical issues. Track debris is being blamed for the malfunction.
The train’s failure has caused part of Route 106 (Roxbury Road) to be closed. Traffic is using Route 609 (Barnetts Road) as a detour.)
