Plea deals reached in New Kent Circuit Court

Plea deals were reached in related cases as part of July 24 proceedings in New Kent Circuit Court.

Coleman Tyler Mundie and Ardeshia Ja Hutchinson accepted the agreements during the afternoon trial.

Mundie entered a guilty plea to an amended charge of possession of misdemeanor drug paraphernalia (originally attempting to deliver drugs to a prisoner). One charge of conspiracy to deliver drugs to a prisoner was dropped. Hutchinson pleaded guilty to an amended charge of trespassing after being forbidden (originally attempting to deliver drugs to a prisoner). One charge of conspiracy to deliver drugs to a prisoner was dropped. The charges stem from a Feb. 13, 2016 incident in which the two defendants teamed up in an attempt to bring drug paraphernalia into Henrico Jail East.

Both Mundie and Hutchinson received a 12-month sentence with all time suspended on their misdemeanor charges. Each will have to pay all court cards as part of the agreement.

In an unrelated case, a charge of grand larceny was dismissed against Jerry Gilbert Washington Jr., 45, of the 15600 block of Cooks Mill Road, Lanexa. Washington was originally charged with stealing cash from Lamont Jones on Sept. 8, 2016.
