Accident in Eltham results in loss of Chesterfield man’s life

An accident on Eltham Road near the intersection of Farmer’s Drive in New Kent on Aug. 6 has resulted in a fatality.

Floyd L. Madison Jr., 63, of Chesterfield, died as a result of injuries stemming from the accident.

According to the state police report, an SUV was heading east on Eltham Road (Route 33) and prepared to make a left turn when it was struck by a sedan truck. The sedan spun into the westbound lane, striking the motorcycle that Madison was operating.

Authorities arrested Jamal D. Goode, 34, of Richmond, who was driving the sedan. He is being charged with following too closely and failure to main proper control of a vehicle.

Police also charged Elised R. “Lopez” Gomez, 25, of West Point, for driving without a license.

The case remains under investigation and additional charges are pending.
