Route 60 to close for parade on Dec. 10

Traffic along Pocahontas Trail (Route 60) in New Kent will be diverted on Sunday, Dec. 10 from 1:30-4:30 p.m. for the Providence Forge Christmas parade.

Traffic will be closed from the intersection of Carriage Road (Rt. 629) and Route 60 to the intersection of Olivet Church Road (Rt. 618) and Route 60. Motorists will be re-routed to use the Boulevard for those traveling eastbound and westbound on Route 60.

Courthouse Road (Rt. 155) will be closed at the intersection of Route 60 both north and south. Travelers driving in those directions will be diverted to detours and are encouraged to avoid the parade area if not planning to attend.

Motorists are advised to use caution when driving in the area during the hours prior and after the parade. All highways are expected to be reopened by 4:30 p.m.
