Former New Kent County employee indicted on embezzlement charges

A former New Kent County employee was indicted on five charges of embezzlement by a grand jury after Monday morning proceedings in New Kent Circuit Court.

Andrew James Dorish Jr., 33, of the 5200 block of Cold Harbor Road, Mechanicsville, had one felony charge of embezzlement of public funds and four misdemeanor embezzlement charges certified by the grand jury.

According to the indictments, Dorish was employed in New Kent County’s Treasurer’s Office when he allegedly stole $1,189.54 on Oct. 13, 2016. Between May-Aug. 2017, he allegedly embezzled four smaller amounts totaling $584.94 during the three-month time span before an investigation began. He was subsequently arrested on the charges.

The grand jury also certified indictments against the following defendants:

–David Martin Anstey, 34, of 48B Saint Lo Road, Fort Lee, on one count each of attempted burglary, felony destruction of property, and misdemeanor trespassing. Anstey allegedly tried to break into a residence belonging to Russell McMillan, damaging a Park Model Trailer in the process on Aug. 3, 2017.

–Ray Linwood Brown Jr., 22, of the 8700 block of Adkins Road, Charles City, on a lone charge of distribution of cocaine. The alleged offense took place on June 26, 2017.

–Tyron Carrington Grammer, 29, of the 5400 block of Fitzhugh Bacon Drive, Williamsburg, on a lone charge of misdemeanor DUI. The indictment stems from a Mar. 12, 2017 incident.

–Dustin Lee Grimes, 32, of the 8200 block of Fort Myres Road, Mechanicsville, on a single count of credit card larceny. The defendant allegedly stole a card belonging to Jane Elizabeth Adkins on Sept. 20, 2017.

–Raymond Lee Loveland, 29, of the 300 block of Mimosa Drive, Newport News, on two counts each of intent to sell stolent property and grand larceny, and one count each of burglary and unauthorized use of a vehicle. Loveland allegedly stole tools belonging to Curtis Contracting on June 6, 2017, and allegedly used a vehicle belonging ot the company on July 4, 2017.

–Kevin Martinez-Martinez, 23, of 922 Mildred Street, Norfolk, on a single count of possession of cocaine. The defendant allegedly had the substance in his possession on Oct. 7, 2017.

–Darian Ivory McElfresh, 20, of the 2400 block of E. Franklin Street, Apt. 201, Richmond, on a charge of possession of an imitation schedule I/II substance. McElfresh allegedly had the fake substance on July 6, 2017.

–Thomas Christpher Pryor, 21, of the 200 block of Accommodation Street, Richmond, on one charge each of grand larceny and felony destruction of property. The defendant allegedly damaged a truck belonging to Safe N Sound and stole a tool box from it on Nov. 6, 2017.

–Trevor Dillon Rhodes, 20, of the 200 block of N. 15th Avenue, Hopewell, on a lone count of possession of a gun by a nonviolent felon. Rhodes apparently was in possession of the gun on Oct. 15, 2017.

–Jennifer Lynn Rogers, 32, of the 3000 block of Hiden Road, Richmond, on one charge of possession of a controlled substance. The defendant allegedly possessed methamphetamine on Oct. 2, 2017.

–Nicholas Andres Santiago, 19, of the 100 block of Genlou Road, Chesterfield, on a single count of felony eluding of police. The offense allegedly took place on Oct. 27, 2017.

–De’Qua Mosiah Stovall, 21, currently of Henrico Jail East, on a single charge of malicious wounding. On Aug. 5, 2017, Stovall allegedly caused a significant injury during an altercation with Steven Mitchell.

–Dylan Mitchell Worley, 22, of the 700 block of N. 8th Avenue, Hopewell, on a solo county of possession of a firearm by a violent felon. Worley allegedly had the item in his possession on Oct. 15, 2017.
