Lanexa teenager indicted on a dozen firearm related crimes

A Lanexa teenager who allegedly used a firearm to commit several offenses had charges certified by a grand jury during Monday morning proceedings in New Kent Circuit Court.

Clifton Calvin Cook III, 18, of the 8800 block of Hick Island Road, was indicted on one charge each of possession of a firearm on school grounds, shooting a firearm from a vehicle, malicious shooting at a train or vehicle, credit card larceny, firearm larceny, robbery, malicious wounding, armed robbery, use of a firearm in commission of a felony, and misdemeanor petty larceny. He also was indicted on two counts of misdemeanor entering into a vehicle.

According to the indictments, the alleged offenses took place from Apr. 8-18 of this year. Cook allegedly stole a firearm belonging to Bryant Lipford and a credit card belonging to Richard Carl Ferrell Jr. He is also accused of robbing Brock Richards.

In other indictments certified by the grand jury:

–Jeffrey Leon Akrie, 60, of the 14000 block of Rockahock Road, Lanexa, on a lone charge of DUI (third offense). The alleged offense took place on Nov. 17, 2017.

–Jatavious Jaquez Calloway, 30, of the 600 block of Bell Street, Hampton, on one count of sale/distribution of marijuana greater than one-half ounce but less than five pounds. The alleged offense took place on Sept. 29, 2017.

–Taz Elliot Fisher, 38, of the 9200 block of Boulevard Road, Providence Forge, on one count each of unauthorized use of a vehicle and pick-pocketing. Fisher allegedly used a Ford F150 belonging to Vence Brown without permission on Sept. 19, 2017. The defendant also allegedly pick-pocketed victims on Nov. 26, 2017.

–Nicolei Joseph Grindheim, 21, of New Kent, on one charge each of larceny (third offense), breaking and entering, and larceny of checks. The defendant allegedly stole checks of Christopher Kahn and broke into Virginia Recycling. The alleged offenses took place on Dec. 15, 2017 and Mar. 6.

–Alfredo Joa Guardado-Orellana, 40, of the 4600 block of Southwood Parkway, Richmond, on a single count of grand larceny. The defendant allegedly stole an iPhone 7 plus belonging to Sheila White on Mar. 20.

–Shelly Jones, 48, of the 8700 block of Lewis Tyler Road, Charles City, on a lone charge of DUI (third offense). The alleged offense took place on Dec. 25, 2017.

–Samuel Patrick Nye, 34, of the 18000 block of Kayla Drive, Barhamsville, on a single charge of possession of heroin. The defendant allegedly had the substance on him on Nov. 30, 2017.

–Noah Edwin Riddick, 34, of the 3400 block of George Washington Highway, Portsmouth, on three counts of assault and battery on a family member (third offense), and one count each of strangulation and abduction. The alleged offenses took place on July 8, 2017, July 14, 2017, and Oct. 11, 2017.

–Allen Scott Rutherford Jr., 34, of the 100 block of Leisure Lane, Toano, on one count of aggravated sexual battery with a minor. The alleged offense took place on Aug. 1, 2017.

–Daryl Lynn Wyche, 49, of the 4800 block of Altar Road, Richmond, on a lone charge of driving after being declared a habitual offender. The alleged offense took place on Mar. 21.
