Benjamin Harrison Bridge closing overnight Oct. 28-29

The Benjamin Harrison Bridge that connects Charles City and Prince George County will be closing overnight on Oct. 28 and Oct. 29 for bridge work (weather permitting).
The bridge will be closed from 8 p.m-6 a.m. to undergo routine work. Drivers are encouraged to use the following detours:

-Charles City to Prince George: Take Route 5 West (John Tyler Memorial Highway) to Interstate 295 southbound. Travel to exit 15A and head eastbound on Route 10 to return to Prince George/Hopewell.

-Prince George to Charles City: Take Route 10 westbound to Interstate 295 northbound. Take exit 22A eastbound to Route 5.

Travelers can also use the Jamestown-Scotland Ferry as an alternate route to travel to the Hampton Roads area.
