Localities appoint leadership for 2019
New leadership roles at both the government and school levels have been appointed for 2019.
In New Kent, District 2 representative Tommy Tiller was tabbed as chairman for the board of supervisors for the year. District 3 representative Patricia Paige received the nod as vice-chairwoman.
Sarah Grier Barber, the District 4 representative in New Kent, will serve as the chairwoman for New Kent’s School Board for 2019. District 1 leader Adriane Marshall will serve her first term as vice-chairwoman of the school board.
In Charles City, District 3 representative Floyd Miles Sr. will take over the mantle as chairman of the board of supervisors for the year. District 2 representative Bill Coada will handle the duties as vice-chairman.
District 1 representative Helen Payne-Jones received the nod to serve as chairwoman for another year for Charles City’s school board. Herbert Johnson of District 2 will spend a second consecutive term as vice-chairman of the school board.
