Trio involved in $100,000 heist indicted by Charles City grand jury

A trio of men who allegedly stole more than $100,000 during a residence of a robbery have been indicted on multiple charges by a Charles City grand jury Tuesday morning.

Tyron Lorenza Allen, 32, of the 6200 block of Old Union Road, Charles City, and Jeremy Brandon Martin, 33, and Stephen Hunter Martin, 30, both of the 8200 block of Vaughan Road, North Dinwiddie, were all indicted in relation to an Oct. 15, 2018 robbery of a residence on Roxbury Road. According to the indictments, the trio broke into an occupied home where several individuals were gathered, stealing approximately $112,000 from a safe, along with other items by ransacking purses. Allen was prominently chased by officers on the same day, fleeing from his vehicle after it crashed. He was later located on Route 895 in Henrico and upon his arrest, he allegedly had $3,000 in possession.

Allen was indicted on four counts of robbery, and one count each of use of a firearm in a felony (first offense), burglary, possession of a weapon by a violent felon, and use of a firearm in a felony (second offense). Jeremy Martin was indicted on three counts of robbery, and one count each of armed burglary, use of a firearm in a felony, felony pickpocketing, and use of a firearm in the felony (second offense). Stephen Hunter was indicted on three counts of use of a firearm in a felony (second offense), two counts of robbery, robbery of a residence with a gun, and armed burglary with intent to commit rape.

In other indictments handed up by the grand jury:

–Keith Tyron Lauray, 53, of Hartford, Connecticut, on four counts of aggravated sexual battery. The offenses allegedly took place in 2012.

–Anthony Raymond Messina, 38, of 17 Tadich Drive, Williamsburg, on one count each of felony eluding of police and misdemeanor reckless driving. The indictment alleges that Messina was pulled over during a traffic stop and fled from police on John Tyler Memorial Highway (Route 5) on Jan. 1.

–Chad Mann Shaffer-Shaw, 27, of the 11000 block of Dude Ranch Road, Glen Allen, on one count each of grand theft auto and obtaining money under false pretenses. The indictment alleges that the defendant stole a car and attempted to scrap it for medal on Oct. 8, 2018.

–Eric Louis Shields Jr., 25, of the 11000 block of St. Audries Drive, Chesterfield, on a single count of grand larceny. The defendant allegedly stole electronics that included an XBOX game system and video games from Jason Miles on Jan. 7.
