Smith to seek post as Charles City Sheriff
Javier Smith has announced his intentions to pursue the position of sheriff for Charles City County.
Smith, who served as the county’s sheriff for eight years, has 22 years in law enforcement and currently works in Chesterfield.
“As a candidate, I am excited to speak on the duties necessary to move the office forward,” Smith said in a press release. “The experience gained through working as a deputy, an administrator, and now part of an accredited office, has given me the knowledge and confidence to better serve our community.”
