A dozen indicted on drug charges in unrelated cases by New Kent grand jury

A dozen people who accumulated drug charges in unrelated incidents were part of indictments certified by a grand jury Monday morning in New Kent Circuit Court:

–Christopher Thomas Batkins, 26, of the 3600 block of Hopewell Road, New Kent, on one count each of possession of a gun by a nonviolent felon and possession of a weapon (not gun) by a felon. Batkins allegedly possessed the items on Mar. 31.

–Steven Dashawn Boyd, 38, of the 500 block of North Adams Street, Richmond, on one count each of possession of a controlled substance and distribution of marijuana. The defendant allegedly possessed cocaine and sold marijuana upon his arrest on Mar. 8.

–Melissa Ann Brown, 50, of the 9200 block of Higgins Road, Quinton, on a single charge of manufacturing a controlled substance. Brown allegedly manufactured Alprazolam on Feb. 13.

–Christopher Lee Davis, 20, of the 19000 block of Tabernacle Road, Barhamsville, on a lone count of manufacturing of a controlled substance. Davis allegedly manufactured LSD on June 29, 2018.

–Mark Andrew Davis, 35, of the 100 block of South Elm Avenue, Highland Springs, on a single count of possession of a controlled substance. Davis allegedly possessed cocaine upon his arrest on Sept. 4, 2018.

–Carlos Lamont Erskines, 39, of the 100 block of Winterset Pass, Williamsburg, on one charge of possession of a controlled substance. Erskines was allegedly in possession of cocaine on Nov. 14, 2018.

–Travon Latrelle Harris, 23, currently of Henrico Jail East, on a single charge of assault and battery on a law enforcement officer. Harris allegedly attacked a guard on June 24 while he was incarcerated in the facility.

–Lauren Christine Jarrell, 27, of the 100 block of Seton Hill Road, Williamsburg, on one count each of prescription fraud and attempted prescription fraud. The defendant allegedly forged prescriptions on May 9 and May 11 of this year.

–Aliyyah Rashidah Johnson, 35, of the 2100 block of Deforrest Street, Richmond, on one count each of manufacturing a controlled substance and failure to appear on a possession with intent to distribute charge. Johnson allegedly manufactured cocaine on Oct. 10, 2018 and failed to appear for a court day on Nov. 13, 2018.

–Jacob Earl Lanning, 25, of the 15000 block of Old Ridge Road, Beaverdam, on one count each of possession of a weapon/ammunition (not gun) by a convicted felon, and manufacturing of a controlled substance. The offenses allegedly took place on Dec. 24, 2018.

–Ashlye D. Lions, 21, of the 8800 block of Trolley Lane, Glen Allen, on a single county of petty larceny (third offense). Lions allegedly stole $500 from Burger King on May 17.

–Logan Lee Meck, 27, of the 3300 block of Turtle Rock Drive, Virginia Beach, on a solo charge of distributing marijuana. The offense allegedly took place on Jan. 13.

–Alvaro Rascon Rodriguez, 29, of the 10000 block of Lees Landing Lane, Saluda, on a single charge of possession of a controlled substance. Rodriguez allegedly had heroin in his possession when he was arrested on Nov. 23, 2018.

–Shawn Eric Smith, 29, of the 4600 block of Easy Place Southeast, Washington D.C., on a lone count of possession of a controlled substance. The defendant allegedly possessed methamphetamine when he was arrested on Mar. 17.

–Eric Jason Strickland, 40, of the 100 block of Bob White Circle, Jesup, Georgia, on a single count of child abuse. Strickland allegedly had a child in his care on Jan. 11 when the offense took place.

–Rashard Davon Terry, 28, of the 2200 block of Farrand Street, Richmond, on one count of possession of a schedule I/II substance. Terry allegedly was in possession of oxycodone on Jan. 4.

–Omari Akil Watkins, 39, of the 9600 block of Escada Court, Chesterfield, on two counts of possession of a controlled substance. Watkins allegedly possessed Adderall and heroin on Oct. 26, 2018.
