Charles City candidate for sheriff: Javier Smith

By Community Member | September 18, 2019 12:03 am

Experience: Served eight years as sheriff of Charles City County, four years in Chesterfield’s Police Department, and 23 years of total law enforcement experience.

Reason for running: “Since my time away, I have been able to see things on a larger scale. I will help provide training, use my experiences with other agencies to connect them with Charles City’s Sheriff’s Office, and my faith in God as I have the will and desire to serve my community.”

Why people should vote for you: “I’m the most qualified of the candidates. I want to sit down and work with community, state, and federal agencies. It’s not just about Charles City’s Sheriff’s Office, but the community as a whole. Service is not only about making decisions for the office, but decisions to help the community in a changing world.
