Henrico man to serve six months for stealing copper and tools in Charles City

A Henrico man will spend six months in jail after receiving formal sentencing during Nov. 7 proceedings in Charles City Circuit Court.

Adam Garth Clements, 38, of the 300 block of Newbridge Road, received a 10-year sentence with nine years, six months suspended (six months to serve) as the result of a plea agreement reached on Mar. 5 of this year. He must also pay $900 in restitution.

During Clements trial, the defendant worked for David Adams and stole copper wire and an extension ladder. Video footage revealed that Clements stole the items and sold them to a salvage yard.

Clements plea deal had called for him to complete programs at the Counseling Center. However, the defendant picked up a new charge, discharging him from the program and resulting in him being sentenced to jail.
