Update: Victim identified in fatal Charles City shooting; suspect arrested
A shooting in Charles City early Saturday morning has left one person dead.
According to a press release, Charles City County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call for service shortly after 2:30 a.m. on Nov. 9 to the 8400 block of Little Elam Road. When they arrived, they discovered a man with multiple gunshot wounds. The victim later died at the scene.
The victim was identified as 38-year old James Seldon on Sunday morning.
Working with U.S. Marshalls, Richmond’s Police Department, and the Virginia State Police, a suspect was apprehended by Charles City’s Sheriff’s Office Saturday afternoon.
Antwan Jackson, 37, was identified by Charles City Sheriff’s Office and is currently in custody for the shooting. He has been charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, use of a firearm in commission of a felony (second offense), and second degree murder.
