Providence Forge man indicted on DUI maiming charge in Charles City

A man who fled the scene of an accident that left one person injured has been indicted by a Charles City grand jury.

Terrell Jovon Johnson, 35, of the 8800 block of Samaria Lane, Providence Forge, was handed indictments on one count each of DUI maiming, felony fleeing the scene of an accident, misdemeanor DUI (second offense), and misdemeanor driving after forfeiting license. The indictments allege that on Oct. 17, 2019, Johnson crashed a vehicle while he was driving under the influence on Barnetts Road that left the passenger injured and attempted to flee from the vehicle.

Johnson’s tentative trial date is scheduled for Feb. 21.
