Richmond man indicted in Charles City murder case

A Richmond man who allegedly killed a Charles City man last November was indicted by a Charles City grand jury Tuesday morning.

Antwan Kareem Jackson, 37, of the 1800 block of Keswick Avenue, received indictments on count each of second-degree murder, use of a firearm in commission of a felony (second offense), and possession of a weapon by violent felon.

According to the indictment that coincided with police reports, on Nov. 9, 2019, Charles City’s Sheriff’s Office responded for a call to service around 2:30 a.m. When they arrived, they discovered a man with multiple gunshot wounds. The man, identified as James Seldon, 38, of Charles City, later died at the scene. After an investigation, Jackson was identified as the person who committed the alleged crimes.

Jackson is currently being held without bond. His trial is tentatively scheduled for May 22.

In other indictments handed up by the grand jury:

–Wyatt Jacob Renick, 30, of the 9700 block of Laurel Pine Drive, Richmond, on one count each of burglary, grand larceny, and selling stolen property. The defendant allegedly stole copper and copper tubing from Roxbury Mechanical on Nov. 4, 2019.

–Westmore Tabb III, 24, of the 8900 block of Little Elam Road, Charles City, one a single charge of possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute. Tabb allegedly attempted to sell cocaine on Dec. 6, 2019.

–Michael Lee Wallace Jr., 48, of the 11000 block of Canora Lane, on two counts of possession of a gun by a nonviolent felon. Wallace was in possession of a firearm on the dates of Dec. 6, 2019 and Dec. 10, 2019.

–Whitney Leeann Young, 20, of the 8600 block of Samaria Lane, Providence Forge, on a single count of malicious wounding. Young allegedly stabbed the victim with a knife during an argument on Sept. 16.
