Closings, Cancellations, and Postponements due to COVID-19
Here is a running list of closings, cancellations, and postponements due to the COVID-19 (coronavirus) situation:

Charles City County Public Schools
All classes, activities, and events that use of the facilities are closed for the remainder of the academic year.
New Kent County Public Schools
All classes, activities, and events that use of the facilities are closed for the remainder of the academic year.
Government
New Kent County Government- Residents and customers are encouraged to conduct business online at www.co.new-kent.va.us or call (804) 966-9861.
All New Kent County Firehouse Chats have been cancelled.
Charles City County’s Town Hall meeting scheduled for Thursday, March 19, has been cancelled.
Charles City County’s Board of Supervisors meeting originally scheduled for Tuesday, March 24, has been cancelled.
Businesses
Rosie’s Gaming Emporium at Colonial Downs will be closed until April 25.
Heritage Public Library will be closed until April 25.
BB&T (Charles City) will be closing the lobby starting March 23 unless an appointment has been made. All transactions will be conducted via drive-thru window.
All recreational businesses and businesses that provide personal services (such as haircuts) are closed for 30 days per Governor Northam’s declaration.
Courts
New Kent General District Court- All civil, traffic, and criminal matters (with the exception of emergency matters) will be continued for 21 days (April 6). Please visit the court’s website for matters that are deemed emergencies.
Charles City Combined Court- All matters on March 28 will be continued. Call 652-2188 for more information.
