Update: New Kent Sheriff’s Office arrests suspect in Lanexa robbery

New Kent Sheriff’s Office has arrested a Williamsburg man in connection to a robbery that took place in the Lanexa area of the county.
On Saturday, Apr. 11 at approximately 2:40 p.m., deputies responded to a call for service at Stewart’s Grocery, located at the 15000 block of Pocahontas Trail. According to the police report, a male approached the store clerk and demanded cash from the register while the lower portion of his face was covered. The suspect obtained the money and left the store. No injuries were reported in the incident.
New Kent Sheriff’s Office has obtained information about a potential suspect and issued a warrant for the arrest of Karim Aziz Muhammad of the 100 block of Williamson Drive of Williamsburg. A search commenced for the suspect and he was apprehended on April 14. He is currently being held at Henrico Jail East with no bond.
