Victim dies in Interstate 64 car crash in New Kent

A crash on Interstate 64 in New Kent Monday evening has resulted in a fatality.

According to a press release, Virginia State Police Troopers responded to a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 64 at the 205 mile marker (Bottoms Bridge) at approximately 6:42 p.m. The report says a Chevrolet Impala was traveling east in the left lane when a tree fell and struck the vehicle.

The driver, Kevin Michael Bryant, 39, of Williamsburg, died at the scene. He was wearing his seatbelt.

No further information about the accident is available at this time. The crash remains under investigation.
