Providence Forge woman dies in Charles City car accident

Virginia State Police are investigating a Charles City crash that resulted in the fatality of a Providence Forge woman.

Shortly before noon on Monday, Aug. 24, state troopers responded to the 7000 block of S. Lott Cary woman. A preliminary investigation indicates a 2009 Cadillac CTS was traveling north on S. Lott Cary Road when it crossed the center line and struck an oncoming 2015 Chevrolet Silverado and the trailer it was pulling.

The driver of the Cadillac, identified as Glenda L. Canaday, 60, died at the scene. She was wearing a seatbelt.

The driver of the Chevrolet, identified as Levi G. Scott, 31, of Providence Forge, was uninjured. He was also wearing a seatbelt.

The crash remains under investigation.
