Williamsburg man involved in two separate chases indicted by New Kent Grand Jury

A Williamsburg man who fled from law enforcement officers on two separate occasions has been indicted by a New Kent grand jury.

Korey Alexander Gemmiti, 25, of the 100 block of Sharps Road, was indicted on two counts each of felony eluding of police and misdemeanor DUI (second offense), and one count of felony destruction of property.

Indictments allege that on Apr. 7, Gemmitti fled from officers while operating a vehicle in an intoxicated state. Additional indictments allege that he repeated the offense on June 12, striking a New Kent Sheriff’s Officer’s vehicle during his attempt to escape.

In other indictments certified by the grand jury:

–Taylor Marie Barker, 22, of the 700 block of Scott Road, Richmond, on one charge of possession of a Schedule I/II substance. Barker allegedly possessed Fentanyl illegally on May 15.

–Dustyn Keith Carter, 37, of the 9400 block of Sherwood Drive, Quinton, on a lone charge of possession of a Schedule I/II substance. The defendant allegedly possessed cocaine on Oct. 22, 2019.

–John Perlie Dawson Jr., 33, of 16 Kenneth Street, Hampton, on one count each of grand theft auto, felony eluding of police, hit and run, misdemeanor reckless driving, misdemeanor tampering with a vehicle, and misdemeanor trespassing. The defendant allegedly stole a vehicle belonging to Anthony Wasiack on June 28 and used the vehicle to run from police officers.

–Tabitha Ann Deal, 33, of the 9500 block of Proctors Road, Richmond, on one count of possession of a Schedule I/II substance. The defendant allegedly possessed methamphetamine on July 6, 2019.

–Maryus Alonzo Johnson Jr., 47, of the 22 South Kenmore Road, Richmond, on one charge of unauthorized use of a vehicle. Johnson allegedly used the vehicle of Marilyn Richardson without her permission on Feb. 7.

–Sharon Denice Jones, 49, of the 9100 block of Kimages Road, Charles City, on a solo count of grand larceny. Jones allegedly stole jewelry belonging to Ellen Anderson on Nov. 25, 2019.

–Stanley Joseph Nasuta III, 54, of the 1200 block of Libbie Avenue, Richmond, on a single count of DUI (third offense within 10 years). Nasuta allegedly operated a vehicle while under the influence on Aug. 16, 2019 after being convicted of two similar offenses within the past ten years).

–Michala Rachel Simmons, 26, of the 5200 block of Hopewell Road, New Kent, on a solo charge of possession of a Schedule I/II substance. The defendant allegedly possessed methamphetamine on May 18.

–William Allen Snyder, 28, of the 500 block of Wales Drive, Highland Springs, on a single county of grand theft auto. The defendant allegedly stole a 2012 Chevy Equinox belonging to Katherine Sheridan on June 27.
