Former Cumberland Hospital employee indicted my multijurisdictional grand jury
A woman who worked at Cumberland Hospital in New Kent in 2019 has been indicted by a multijurisdictional grand jury.
Stacey Burrell, 57, of King William, was indicted during a special session on July 14 after a presentation from prosecutors from Attorney General Mark Herring’s office.
The indictment alleges that while employed at Cumberland Hospital, Burrell injured a juvenile patient by allegedly scalding the victim. Burrell is charged with one count of malicious wounding.
Burrell appeared by video Monday morning in New Kent Circuit Court. She was granted a $2,500 bond with her case scheduled for review on Sept. 20.
