A Front Royal man accepted a plea deal to a reduced charge as part of an agreement reached Monday morning in New Kent Circuit Court.

Brandon Michael Wise-Collins, 33, of the 800 block of Morgan Place, entered a guilty plea to an amended charge of misdemeanor petty larceny (originally grand larceny) stemming from an Apr. 7, 2023 incident.

In a summary of evidence provided by New Kent Commonwealth’s Attorney Scott Renick, on Apr. 11, 2023, a New Kent deputy received a call from Dave Hall, who worked for Central Concrete. Hall said that someone had gone onto a worksite at the intersection of Interstate 64 and Emmaus Church Road (Route 106) and stole a trailer. The deputy investigated and discovered the trailer being sold on a marketplace website. The officer contacted the seller, identified as Wise-Collins, who said he thought the property had been abandoned and that’s why he took it.

Under the agreement, Wise-Collins received a 12-month sentence with all time suspended on the conviction. He must pay a $1,000 fine, and has already paid restitution in the amount of $300.
