Duo indicted for attempting to distribute drugs at Henrico Jail East in New Kent

A pair of individuals who tried to smother drugs to prisoners at Henrico Jail East were among those indicted by a New Kent grand jury Monday morning.

Darrell Lashawn Witcher, 30, currently of Henrico Jail East, and Zanobia Rentavia Pettus, 27, of the Atlantis Apartments, Virginia Beach, were both indicted for the Oct. 10, 2023 incident. Witcher has been indicted on two counts on delivering drugs to a prisoner, while Pettus has been indicted on one count each of delivering drugs to a prisoner and distributing a Schedule III drug to a prisoner.

In other indictments certified by the grand jury:

–Jose Antonio Vasquez Argueta, 48, of the 4100 block of Townhouse Road, Richmond, on one charge each of driving under the influence (third or subsequent offense) and misdemeanor driving suspended with a blood-alcohol content level of .02 or higher. The offenses allegedly took place on Feb. 15, 2023.

–Brandon Lorenzo Beach, 24, of the 300 block of W. Roanoke Street, Richmond, on one count each of credit card larceny and misdemeanor petty larceny. The offenses allegedly took place on Sept. 17, 2022.

–Jacob Bryan Cahoon, 28, of the 6500 block of New Kent Highway, Quinton, on two counts of possession of a Schedule I/II drug. Cahoon allegedly possessed both cocaine and methamphetamine on Aug. 22, 2023.

–Nancy Jeannette Campbell, 41, of the 19000 block of Eltham Road, West Point, on a solo charge of possession of a Schedule I/II drug. Campbell allegedly possessed methamphetamine on Aug. 11, 2023.

–Emmanuel Ruben Carrerro, 50, of the 6400 block of Farmer’s Drive, Barhamsville, on one charge each of strangulation and misdemeanor assault and battery on a family member. The offenses allegedly took place on Dec. 19, 2023.

–Carrie A. Conte, 39, of the 4000 block of Quinton Road, Quinton, on a single charge of possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The defendant allegedly possessed cocaine on June 24, 2023.

–Bethany Ethel Daiker, 29, of the 500 block of Porter Street, Richmond, on one count each of possession of a Schedule I/II drug and possession of a gun while in possession of a Schedule I/II drug. Daiker allegedly possessed both cocaine and a firearm on May 29, 2023.

–Timothy Michael English, 34, of the 11400 block of Greenyard Estates, Providence Forge, on a solo count of possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The defendant was allegedly in possession of methamphetamine on Sept. 22, 2023.

–Nathan Shane Evans, 49, of the 4300 block of Wigeon Drive, Providence Forge, on a solo count of possession of a Schedule I/II drug. Evans allegedly possessed Methylphenidate on Sept. 9, 2023.

–Darius Deandre Harris, 29, of 36 North Union Street, Petersburg, on a lone count of possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The defendant allegedly possessed methamphetamine on July 12, 2023

–Matthew Ryan Holzschuh, 35, of the 18000 block of Polish Town Road, Barhamsville, on a lone charge of possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The defendant allegedly possessed methamphetamine on Sept. 20, 2023.

–Aaron Andre Hopkins, 46, of the 2500 block of Fourth Avenue, Richmond, on one charge each of felony eluding of police and misdemeanor petty larceny. Hopkins allegedly confiscated five bottles of Don Julio Tequila and fled from authorities after stealing the items on Nov. 7, 2023.

–Safaria Gvon Kenney, 23, of the 3700 block of Delmont Street, Richmond, on carrying a concealed weapon (second offense). The defendant allegedly hid a 9mm handgun out of sight on Oct. 26, 2023.

–Kelly Antoine Murchinson, 42, of the 7100 block of Lovegrass Court, Quinton, on three counts of possession of a gun by a nonviolent felon, and one count each of distribution of a Schedule I/II drug (second offense) and possession of a gun while in possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The defendant allegedly possessed cocaine and a gun illegally on Mar. 30, 2023.

–Kentell Terrique Richberg, 22, of the 8000 block of Plum Hill Lane, West Point, on a solo county of possession of a Schedule I/II drug. Richberg was allegedly in possession of Oxycodone on Sept. 28, 2023.

–Zayon Lavon Robinson, 40, of the 200 block of Susan Constant Drive, Newport News, on one count each of assault on a law enforcement officer, credit card larceny, misdemeanor obstruction of justice, and misdemeanor driving suspended. The offenses allegedly occurred on Nov. 24, 2023.

–Xichen Shen, 21, of the 1400 block of Glynn Springs Drive, Williamsburg, on one count each of felony elduing of police and misdemeanor reckless driving. The offenses allegedly occurred on Jan. 4.

–Michelle Patricia Stafford, 36, of the 7100 block of Colonel Crump Drive, Mechanicsville, on one charge each of possession of a Schedule I/II drug and misdemeanor DUI (first). Stafford allegedly drove a vehicle under the influence and was in possession of Fentanyl upon her arrest.

–Briana Renee Thompson, 29, of 18 Chase Gayton Terrance, Richmond, on one count each of felony eluding of police and misdemeanor reckless driving. The offenss allegedly took place on Sept. 3, 2023.

–Forrest Dillion Tucker, 29, of the 13000 block of Cypress Drive, Lanexa, on one count each of possession of a Schedule I/II drug and misdemeanor assault and battery on a family member. Tucker allegedly was in possession of methamphetamine on Jan. 2 and also attacked a family member on that day.

–Jamarcus Vyshawn Manr Watkins, 23, of the 200 block of Shipwright Loop, Williamsburg, on three counts of malicious assault on a law enforcement officer or emergency medical personnel. Watkins allegedly attacked three emergency medical technicians while being transported for injuries on Aug. 23, 2023.

–John Alexander Wells, 20, of the 9100 block of Minglewood Drive, Mechanicsville, on one count each assault on a law enforcement officer, felony hit and run and misdemeanor counts of obstruction of justice, identity theft, destruction of property, driving while intoxicated, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Wells allegedly drove intoxicated and crashed into the wood-line, damaging VDOT property on Dec. 29, 2023.

–Alfonzo Junior Will, 23, of the 16000 block of Miranda Lane, Woodbridge, on one count each of distribution of marijuana greater than one ounce but less than five pounds, and misdemeanor concealing of a weapon. The offenses allegedly took place on Dec. 7, 2023.

–Cornelius Woodley, 43, of the 400 block of Taft Drive, Portsmouth, on one count each of possession of a gun by a convicted felon, possession of a Schedule I/II drug, and possession of a gun while in possession of a Schedule I/II drug. Woodley allegedly possessed a gun and heroin upon his arrest on Nov. 24, 2023.

–Devon Christopher Woolard, 24, of the 3800 block of Staffordshire Lane, Williamsburg, on two counts of felony eluding of police. Woolard allegedly fled from law enforcement officers on July 31, 2023 and Dec. 1, 2023.
