A Quinton man will spend a year in jail for stalking a person and violating a protective order.

Forrest Dillon Tucker, 30, of the 2800 block of New Kent Highway, entered guilty pleas to one count of misdemeanor stalking, one count of misdemeanor violating a protective order, and two counts of misdemeanor violating terms of pretrial conditions as part of an agreement reached Monday morning in New Kent Circuit Court. One charge each of extortion and a felony violation of pretrial conditions were dropped as part of the plea deal.

In a summary of evidence provided by New Kent Commonwealth Attorney Scott Renick, on Nov. 9, 2024, a New Kent deputy responded for a call of service by a person who said they were being followed home by someone they knew, later identified as Tucker. The victim said that they began receiving messages from Tucker, who made threats about reclaiming property allegedly belonging to them. The defendant also said they were sitting outside the home of the victim as well, saying that he can pop up at any time. Tucker was taken into custody and while in jail, he reached out once again to the victim, which violated an emergency protective order that had been issued against him.

Under the plea agreement, Tucker received a 12-month jail sentence with six months suspended on the stalking conviction (six months to serve). He received the same sentence of 12 months in jail with six suspended (six months to serve) for violating the protective order. On one charge of violating pretrial conditions (for contacting the victim), Tucker received a 12-month sentence with all but 10 days suspended. All 12 months on the second violation of pretrial conditions were suspended. He must also pay $3,000 in fines.

In an unrelated case, a Lanexa man will spend 10 days in jail for possessing a concealed weapon.

Daniel Ryan Carson, 37, of the 700 block of Lanexa Drive, entered an Alford Plea of Guilt to an amended charge of carrying a concealed weapon (originally possession of a gun by a nonviolent felon). An Alford Plea of Guilt indicated while the defendant maintains his innocence, evidence presented in the case would be enough to convict him of the crime.

In a summary of evidence, on Feb. 10, a New Kent deputy responded to a call for service to a residence on Riverside Drive after a complainant heard gunshots. Upon arriving to the scene, the officer encountered Carson, who said that he was the one responsible for the sound in the area as he was hunting.

Under the agreement, Carson received a 12-month sentence with all but 10 days suspended. He must also pay $500 in fines.
