Aaron LoneEagle Montez

Aaron LoneEagle Montez, of Providence Forge, VA, finally found peace with his Lord and Savior at the young age of 21 on July 15, 2015.

He was preceded in death by his paternal great-grandfather, Chief Oliver LoneEagle Adkins (Juliet); maternal great-grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Floyd Lowry and Mr. and Mrs. Thomas McCarthy; maternal grandmother, Carolyn Walker; maternal uncle, Sgt. Grant C. Petty. Aaron is survived by his wife, Rheannon; a cherished son, Grant LoneEagle; loving parents, Manuel and Darlene; sister and friend, Ashton; paternal grandparents, Raul and Brenda; maternal grandfather, James “Tinker” Walker (Tisa); aunts and uncles, Kordi and Danny Adkins, Brenda “Loyi” and Jonny Adkins, Brian Walker, Brit Harper; cousins, Somer (Jonathan), Robert, Cruz and Jeremiah Adkins, Kayla (Dave) Locklear, Aiden and Carolyn Walker and Cole Petty.

Aaron was a 2012 graduate of Charles City High School, a member of the Chickahominy Tribe and a member of Samaria Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Turtle Clan Drummers and Singers, and the Cattails Hunt Club.

Aaron had many other drum brothers up and down the East Coast including Stoney Creek, Nassaw Nation, Stump Town, Storm Boyz, Thunder Voice and his hometown group Turtle Clan.

He was a true outdoorsman hunting, mud bogging, participating in his native culture and spending time with friends and family. He leaves behind many other aunts, uncles and cousins to cherish his memory.

A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 22nd at Samaria Baptist Church, 8130 Lott Cary Road, Charles City, VA 23030. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at Samaria Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been set up for his son, Grant Montez, at Citizens & Farmers Bank, P.O. Box 397 Providence Forge, VA.
