Albert Garnett Copland

Albert Garnett Copland, 62, of Charles City, Virginia, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Aug. 31, 2023.

Garnett was an avid outdoor sportsman and never met a stranger. He was loved by all who knew him. He always lit up any room with his smile and fun-loving personality.

Albert was preceded in death by his father, George F. Copland II, and his nephew, William Ruffin Creekmur.

He is survived by his mother, Ridgely King Copland; brothers, George F. Copland III and Jeff Copland (Tammy); sisters, MaryPat Copland Davis (Curtis) and Carolyn Copland Haupt; nephews, Christian F. Davis (Shelby) and John C. ‘Jack’ Davis; niece, Miranda K. Copland; great-niece, Nora G. Davis; many cousins and countless friends, including his beloved dog Biggie.

The family received friends on Sunday, Sept. 3, 2023, 1-3 p.m. and 4-6 p.m. at Vincent Funeral Home, 9923 Pocahontas Trail, Providence Forge, Virginia, 23140. A funeral service was held on Monday, Sept. 4, 2023, 11 a.m. at Westover Church, 6401 John Tyler Memorial Highway, Charles City, Virginia, 23030. Burial to follow in the church cemetery.
