Barbara England Hayes

Barbara England Hayes, 85, of Charles City, Virginia, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 9, 2025.

Barbara was a long-time member of Memorial United Methodist Church and the New Kent Women’s Club. She was a also a long-time member of the Charles City Electoral Board and was on the Charles City Fair committee. She loved cooking and spending time with her family.

Barbara was preceded in death by her loving husband of 57 years, Donald Earl Hayes.

She is survived by her daughter, Kim Moyer (Kevin); her son, Phil Hayes; two sisters, Patricia Schelhorn and Phyllis Penn (Bill); along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Hospice House of Williamsburg, 4445 Powhatan Parkway, Williamsburg, VA 23188.
