Betty Nobles Helms

Betty Nobles “Boots” Helms, 75, of New Kent, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 16, surrounded by her family.

She was a devoted wife and a loving mother to her six children and their families. Betty is survived by her husband of 53 years, Moade Helms. She is also survived by two daughters, Lisa Shrader (Daniel), Donna Dowdy (Stuart); four sons, Randall Aplin (Diane), Ronnie Aplin (Cathy), Gary Helms (Debbie), Dwayne Helms (Brenda); a sister, Alethea Richardson; 22 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren.

The family received friends Thursday, Oct. 18 at Vincent Funeral Home, 9923 Pocahontas Trail, Providence Forge, and a funeral service was conducted Friday, Oct. 19, also at the funeral home. Burial followed in Washington Memorial Park.
