Christopher Thomas Gentry

Christopher Thomas Gentry, 38, of Quinton, Virginia, departed this earthly life prematurely on May 5, 2025.

Chris was born on Feb. 10, 1987, to his cherished mother, Joy (Groux) and father, J. Thomas (Tom) Gentry. He graduated from New Kent High School in 2005 and completed technical coursework to complement his natural talents with HVAC work. He frequently served those in the community through his technical and mechanical skills, outside of his commercial and residential work as an HVAC technician. Chris was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing, but his passion was spending time fishing on the lake or the river in his boat with family or friends.

Chris is preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Erlene Gentry, Arthur and Hazel Groux; and his cousin, Robert Gooch.

He is survived by his parents, Tom and Joy Gentry; sister, Kristyn (Rudisill) and brother-in-law, Rudi; daughter, Breanna; nephews, Tripp and Dominic; along with a hosts of aunts, uncles, and cousins from Virginia to Vermont and Montana, who also cared for him deeply. Chris’ departure leaves an unfillable void in their live, yet they find comfort in their memories shares and knowing that he is at peace.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, June 20, 2025, 11 a.m., at Washington Memorial Park in Sandston. A Celebration of Life will be hosted by family and immediately follow in Quinton.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Breanna Gentry college account at Citizens and Farmers Bank.
