Daryl Wayne Robinson

Daryl Wayne Robinson, 47, of Providence Forge, Virginia, formerly of Houston, Texas, was taken into the arms of Jesus on Monday, May 16, 2016.

Daryl is survived by his wife of 16 years, Stacy Strenkowski Robinson; two children, Samuel Polk and Leah Grace; parents, Peter and Linda; two brothers, James (Anne Ketter) and Bryan (Angela); a sister, Lara Robinson-Basjert; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Daryl deeply affected the lives of those that he met. He demonstrated his love of his family and community with care and generosity. Daryl was a beloved coach in the New Kent community, with some of his fondest memories coaching with his dad at his side. He was a mentor to many. There wasn’t a child he didn’t encourage with his positive attitude and enthusiasm. Friends and loved ones will remember him as an avid Texas A&M graduate, class of ‘91 (Gig ‘em!). Daryl’s cancer diagnosis brought him closer to God and he became an example of encouragement to others, even while he was courageously fighting himself.

Visitation was held on Thursday, May 19, 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Vincent Funeral Home, 9923 Pocahontas Trail, Providence Forge, Va. 23140. A private burial was held on Friday, May 20, 2016 and a Celebration of Life service was held at New Kent Christian Center, 9660 Tunstall Road, New Kent, Va. 23124 on Friday, May 20, 2016, at 4:30 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the New Kent Girls Softball League, P.O. Box 686, Quinton, Va. 23141. Tributes can be posted at www.vincentfth.com.
