Doris Adams Slusser

Doris Adams Slusser, 78, of Charles City, went to be with the Lord on Monday, Nov. 21, 2016.

Doris was a multi-talented woman who deeply loved her family. She was a tremendous cook, owned her own antique business, and was a talented musician. For three decades, she played the organ at Memorial United Methodist Church and was a lifelong member of Bethany Presbyterian Church.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel and Doris Adams; and by two grandchildren, Johnathan and Stephen.

Doris is survived by her husband of 38 years, Richard Slusser; three daughters, Lisa Black (Chuck), Anne Crom (Richard) and Melinda Tench; two sisters, Betty Jean Crocker and Ann Johnson; two brothers, Daniel and David Adams; three step-children, Debbie Gottwald (Russ), Cindy Salomone (Michael) and Ricky Slusser (Ann); ten grandchildren), RĂ¡chelle, Chuck, Robert, Hunter, Jessie, Mollie, Rex, Rip, Will, and Taylor; and six great-grandchildren.

A funeral service was held on Friday, Nov. 25, 12 p.m. at Vincent Funeral Home, 9923 Pocahontas Trail, Providence Forge, VA. Burial followed at Bethany Presbyterian Church, Charles City, VA. Family received friends on Friday from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. just prior to the service.
