Eric Lief Garnder Keck
Eric Lief Gardner Keck, 63, of Providence Forge, Virginia, passed away on Jan. 29, 2026, with his loving wife and daughter by his side.
Eric was born on June 29, 1962, in Richmond, Virginia. He graduated from Frederick Military Academy and also attended Virginia Military Institute. He grew up working at his father’s store on Hull Street in Richmond. His family moved to Charles City County when he was a teenager.
While working as an agent with Francisco Real Estate, Eric gained extensive knowledge of buying and selling land. He also gave back to his community by volunteering with the Providence Forge Volunteer Rescue Squad. In his early twenties, he founded his own business, E.L. Keck Equipment Co., Inc., where he bought and sold used heavy equipment. An exceptionally hard worker, Eric worked seven days a week to provide a better life for his family.
In his free time, he enjoyed sprint car racing, yearly trips to Las Vegas with close friends, and attending heavy equipment auctions in Florida. He loved his two dogs, Cookie and Midnight. Eric was thankful for his family and many friends.
Eric was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Jessica; his father, Andrew Guerpillion Keck Jr.; his mother, Hannah Moxley Keck; and his brother, Andrew Keck III.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 39 years, Brenda Keck; daughter, Jennifer Keck; sister, Virginia Blaska (Skip); and brother, John Michael Dedeian (Bonnie).
A visitation will be held on Thursday, Feb. 5, 11 a.m. at Vincent Funeral Home, Providence Forge, Virginia. A funeral service followed at 12 p.m. He will be laid to rest beside his parents in Charles City County.
