Freeda Remell Pruitt

Freeda Remell Pruitt, 55, of New Kent, passed away tragically on March 11, 2021.

Freeda was a charming and lively woman who loved everyone she met, and they couldn’t help but love her too. She loved serving others and shared her gift of hospitality while working at many area restaurants, most recently Lakeside Restaurant in Lanexa. Spending time with her grandkids was a great joy to Freeda, especially if it was at the beach or pool side.

Freeda was preceded in death by her father, Clyde Harrison Pruitt, brother, Vaughn Pruitt, and nephew, Daniel Franklin.

She is survived by her children, Jane Pruitt, Jennifer Jones (Jimmy), China Thompson, and Rheannon Montez; mother, Blenda Pruitt; and her siblings, Glenn Pruitt (Jessica), Ellen Kobussen (Steve), Felicia Pruitt, and Tanya Pruitt. She was “Grammy” to Alicia Jones, Darius Jones, Aja Thompson, John Thompson, Alivyah Dirkson, Orion Thompson, Grant Montez, and Liam Toman.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 20, 2021, 2 p.m. at Vincent Funeral Home, 9923 Pocahontas Trail, Providence Forge, VA 23140. Reception will follow at Lakeside Restaurant in Lanexa. Due to COVID-19, please observe all necessary precautions and know that seating is limited.
