George Dwight Adkins

George Dwight Adkins, 66, of Charles City, passed away on June 26, 2022.

George drove trucks for most of his life and worked D.W. Davis until he got sick. He enjoyed going to the drag strip and fishing.

George was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Adolph Adkins; two songs, George D. Adkisn Jr. and Michael Diggs; a daughter, Leah Adkins; a grandson, Kellan Adkins; and son-in-law, Christopher Adkins.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 30 years, Brenda Adkins; his mother, Madge Adkins; two sons, Jason Diggs (Kary) and Joseph Ellis; three daughters, Jessica Pruitt (Glenn), Tiffany Justis (Chris), and Mary C. Adkins; six grandchildren, George Englehart (Olivia), Robert Englehart, Kennedy Justis, Ellie Justis, Addison Adkins, and Remi Justis; a sister, Nancy Jackson; three brothers, Barry Adkins, Timmy Adkins (Joyce), and Rex Adkins; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family received friends on Thursday, June 30, 5-8 p.m. at Vincent Funeral Home, 9923 Pocahontas Trail, Providence Forge, VA. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 2, 2 p.m., at Mt. Pleastant Baptist Church, 19300 The Glebe Lane, Charles City, VA, 23030.
