George Merrifield Pomeroy

George Merrifield Pomeroy, 82, of Providence Forge, died Jan. 23, 2013.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy B. Pomeroy; a daughter, Anne M. Phillips, and her husband, Alan; two sisters, Jacqueline G. Pomeroy of Providence Forge and Beverly P. Chambers of Arkansas.

Mr. Pomeroy was retired from BASF (Dow Badische) and working at Powhatan Plantation at the time of his death. A Navy veteran, he was a member of the Mann Page Masonic Lodge No. 157 AF & AM, and the Providence Forge Presbyterian Church.

A graveside memorial service will be held 3 p.m. March 20, 2013 in Olivet Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Providence Forge.
