Gertrude Winbauer Gentry

Gertrude Winbauer Gentry, 96, of New Kent, Virginia, passed away on May 14, 2022.

Gertrude loved baking, with her lemon pound cake voted “best in show” last year. She also enjoyed gardening, flowers, and all of her dogs and other animals.

Gertrude was preceded in death by her husband, Donald W. Gentry; son, Gerald Ellwood Ellgass; and sisters, Evelyn Enroughty and Josephine Knight.

She is survived by her son, Glenn Ellgass; brother, Joseph Winbauer; two grandsons, Bobby Graves and Frank Haegela; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was held on Wednesday, May 18, 11 a.m. at Vincent Funeral Home, 9923 Pocahontas Trail, Providence Forge, VA 23140; Burial took place the same day in Holy Cross Cemetery, 1700 1st Avenue, Richmond, VA 23222.
