Glenn Samuel Ratcliff

Glenn Samuel “Sam” Ratcliff, 67, of Charles City, passed away quietly at home surrounded by the love of his family on Friday, Nov. 24, 2017. After a long battle with illness, Sam passed on peacefully to his home in heaven.

Sam was born in Richmond and was of the Baptist faith. He was a heavy equipment operator for many years and well known within the construction company. Sam was a loving and devoted husband, father, and friend who was loved by everyone he ever met.

Sam was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Glenn Ratcliff and Martha Elliott Ratcliff; and a brother, John Cleveland Ratliff.

At the time of his death, he was at his home and surrounded by his wife of 50 years, Peggy Marie Ratcliff; his son, Richard “Coyote” Michael Oliver; his daughter, Roberta “Bobbi” Oliver Raynor; and his loving bulldog, Pretty Girl. He leaves behind many loved ones, family, and friends.

A private service will be held. A special thank you to the At Home Hospice for their loving care and support.
