Janet Weymouth Whitlow

Janet Weymouth Whitlow, of Quinton, VA, received her angel wings on Mar. 23, 2018, defeating cancer and going to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

She was born on July 11, 1964. She was a loving Christian wife, mother, and daughter. Janet’s father started Chesterfield Insurers Inc. in 1960, a company specializing in writing insurance polices for many volunteer fire and rescue squads and organizations within the state of Virginia and eastern North Carolina. Janet assumed the responsibility, ownership, and presidency of the company upon her father’s passing.

Janet was a lifetime member of the VAVRS Women’s Auxiliary, a past member of East Hanover Volunteer Rescue Squad, and a member of the Mid-Atlantic Carnival Glass Club. She was a dedicated member of Journey Christian Fellowship and the Journey Women’s Ministry. Janet’s passions in life were her family, scrapbooking, camping, collecting antiques, crocheting, and her special alone time studying God’s word.

She was preceded in death by her father, Fred E. Weymouth Sr.; her brother, Fred E. Weymouth II; and numerous other relatives.

Janet is survived by her devoted husband, Eric Warren Whitlow; three handsome sons, Eric Shane, Jason Richard, and Thomas Allen; mother, Katherine A. “KK” Weymouth; brothers, Glen Winkler (Priscilla), Ray Winkler, Richard Blair (Mary Kay); and Susan W. Wachter; mother-in-law, Peggy Whitlow Bass; brothers-in-law, Neal (Kim), Scott, Tracy (Danielle), and Keith (Jennie); sisters-in-law Evelyn Whitlow and Deborah Lumpkin (Jon); along with many other dedicated aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Everyone should know you have an angel watching over you forever, especially you, Judah bug and all the children of Haiti. For all those wonderful people who prayed and helped through the long six months of Janet’s illness, I, Eric, say thank you. To all her special devoted lady friends, Cindy, Donna, Vickie, Carol, Jordan, and Jenny, I love you. A special thanks to all the employees at Chesterfield Insurers, Inc.

A celebration of Janet’s life will be held on Friday, Apr. 6, 2 p.m., at Rockahock Campground, 1428 Outpost Rd., Lanexa, VA 23089.
