John William Long

John William Long (Bill), 58, of Prince George, passed peacefully into the arms of the Lord on Saturday, Oct. 8, 2016.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 39 years, Cindy; sons, Chris (Cindy) of New Kent and Adam (Sarah) of Hopewell; daughter, Laurie of Prince George; five grandchildren, Cody, Gavin, Zachary, Hunter, and Kathryn; along with extended family.

A memorial service will be held Oct. 23, 2016, 2 p.m. at Wesley United Methodist Church, 2901 Norfolk St., Hopewell, VA 23860.

Bill battled a rare brain disease, CADASIL, for many years. He heroically donated himself to CADASIL research.
