Juaneta P. McLaughlin

Juaneta P. McLaughlin, 83, of Quinton, VA, went to her eternal home on Apr. 26, 2019, surrounded by family members.

Juaneta retired from Plastic Products of Virginia in Richmond after a long career as the Executive Secretary. She was a charter and life member of the Providence Forge Volunteer Fire Department Company #2 Ladies Auxiliary, and a long-time member of Providence United Methodist Church where she served as Board Secretary for decades. She also volunteered for years at the Memorial Regional Medical Center Outpatient Desk.

Juaneta was preceded in death by her husband, John Joseph McLaughlin Sr.; her parents, Irving and Neta Phillips; her sister, Lenis Anne Barlow; and a granddaughter, Sarah Ann McLaughlin.

She is survived by her brother, Irving Montgomery Phillips (Nancy); her two sons, John Joseph “Joe” McLaughlin Jr. (Robin), and James “Jim” Phillips McLaughlin (Renee); daughter Joanne McLaughlin Simmons (Dean); grandchildren Christina McLaughlin Fang (Gary), John Joseph “Joey” McLaughlin III (Shannon), Heather McLaughlin Hamilton (Ken), Timothy Wayne McLaughlin (Katie), Daniel Paul Simmons, Phillip Montgomery Simmons, Chantal Pennington, and Samantha Pennington; great-grandchildren Henry Fang, Emily Fang, Sydney Fang, Aiden McLaughlin, Elliot McLaughlin, John Hamilton, Micah Hamilton, Landon McLaughlin, Tyler McLaughlin, Mason McLaughlin, and Timothy McLaughlin Jr.; brothers-in-laws, sisters-in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a myriad of friends.

Visitation was held on Apr. 30, 2019 at Vincent Funeral Home, 9923 Pocahontas Trail, Providence Forge, VA, 23140 from 2-4 p.m. and from 6-8 p.m. A funeral service was held on May 1, 2019, 2 p.m. at Providence United Methodist Church, 4001 New Kent Highway, Quinton, VA, 23141. Interment took place in the church’s cemetery.
