Judith J. Zummo

Judith “Judy” J. Zummo, of Locust Grove, Virginia, was born on June 27, 1944, and passed away Dec. 5, 2021 at her home surrounded by her husband, daughters, and fur babies.

Judy began her teaching career at New Kent High School and later taught in King William County. She finished her teaching career at Ni River Middle School. In her retirement, she published several children’s books whose characters are based on her daughter’s childhood imaginary friends.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Sumner and Gertude Jones.

She is survived by her husband, Michael Zummo; two daughters, Tonya L. Johnson of Lynchburg and Andrea J. Harlow (Michael) of West Point; three stepdaughters, Gina Morgenson (Eric), Michelle Webster (Dan), and Marianne Noskin (Steven); grandchildren Chase and Hunter Harlow, Jack, Sam and Max Morgenson, Giana Ponce (Aaron), Aden and Hanna Webster, Joshua, Benjamin (Christina), Mollie, and Samuel Noskin; a great-granddaughter, Evalina Ponce; her siblings, Jeffrey P. Jones (Janet), Jeri L. Jones and James C. Jones (Kimmie); nieces and nephews, April and Jacob Jones, and Kristin Drudge; great-niece and nephew Jaxon and Marley; and her beloved two furry children, Dax and Henrietta.

Due to COVID, her memorial service will be held on Monday, Apr. 25, 2022, 2 p.m. at St. Peter’s Church, 8400 St. Peter’s Lane, New Kent, VA 23124. Vincent Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation or St. Peter’s Episcopal Church.
