Kenton Sites Gibbs

Kenton Sites Gibbs, 70, of Hinton, Va., passed away Thursday, September 24, 2015 at his home.

Ken was born in Harrisonburg, Va., on April 26, 1945, and was a son of the late Frances Elaine (Sites) and William Blaine Gibbs, Jr.

He worked as a civilian contractor for the U.S. Navy. He was a graduate of Virginia Tech, a member of Mossy Creek Presbyterian Church, and served in the U.S. Navy as a lieutenant.

On September 8, 2012, he was united in marriage to Shirley (Marshall) Gibbs, who survives.

Ken is also survived by a daughter, Rebecca A. Gibbs, of Charles City, Va.; three sons, Kenton “Sy” Gibbs, Jr. and wife Lorinda, of Wirtz, Va., Andrew S. Gibbs, of Mechanicsville, Va., and Paul K., Gibbs and wife Ashley, of Charles City, Va.; a sister, Ann G. Mustain, of Richmond, Va.; a brother, William Blaine Gibbs and wife Connie, of Georgetown, Tx.; two grandchildren, Stone Grayson, and Steele Easton Gibbs; a much anticipated granddaughter, Kinsley Elizabeth Gibbs; the children’s mother and Ken’s first wife, Elizabeth R. Gibbs, of Charles City, Va.

A memorial service was conducted on Sept. 29, 2 p.m. Mossy Creek Presbyterian Church in Mt. Solon, with the Rev. Glenn Coleman officiating. Burial will be private.
