Kerman E. Ward

Kerman E. Ward, 77, of Lanexa, Virginia, went to his heavenly home on Dec. 5, 2020.

He was born on Aug. 4, 1943 in Bertie County, North Carolina, to the late Inez and Nathan Ward. Kerman served in the United States Army and then went to work for New Kent Sheriff’s Department for over 20 years, where he retired as a sergeant. Kerman had a passion for music, which led to the creation of the “Work-N-Progress” band. When he wasn’t playing music, he enjoyed camping and riding Harleys alongside his wife.

In Kerman’s 77 years of life, he made a few things known for sure- he loved God, his family, and his country. If you knew him, you knew you had a friend for life.

Kerman was preceded in death by his brother, Michael Ward.

He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Debra Ward; two daughters, Holly and Kerri Ward; a brother, Henry Ward (Joyce); three stepchildren, Benjamin T. Ward Sr. (Tina), Brandi Wade (Chuck) and Brock Ward Sr. (Whitney); ten grandchildren, Travis and Connor Laisure, Ryan Hockaday (Sydney), Brook Ward, Benjamin Ward. Jr., Raegan, Court, and Ella Wade, B.A. and Kennedy Ward.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date. Tributes may be posted at www.vincentfh.com.
