Larry Southall

Larry Southall lost a long battle with cancer on Sunday, Sept. 13, 2015.

The day prior to his passing, he had celebrated his 86th birthday. When reminded of his age, he used one of his favorite lines; “It’s not a record, but it is a damn good average!”

He leaves behind his true love, Jean, and had recently celebrated their 64th anniversary a few days ago.

He is also survived by his children, Kathy, Bob, and L.T.; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

All have great stories of times spent with Larry. Stories of hunting, fishing, casino trips, and summer vacations in the Outer Banks are just a few. He will be missed by all.

Larry was a proud graduate of the class of 1950 of Virginia Tech. Hokie football an important part of his life. After college and a brief stint in the Air Force, he spent his entire career with DuPont at various locations around the country.

The family hosted an afternoon gathering at St. Peter’s Parish in New Kent on Friday, Sept. 18.
